Kaci Walfall, who portrays Naomi McDuffie on Naomi, still hopes for future crossovers with the larger Arrowverse franchise, including The Flash and Superman & Lois. Since the Arrowverse began almost 10 years ago, Greg Berlanti's interconnected universe has been one of The CW's flagship franchises, featuring multiple iconic heroes and villains from the DC Universe. While the COVID-19 pandemic definitely has had an effect on the DC TV brand, it hasn't prevented The CW from continuing to launch one show after another. This season, The CW premiered Naomi, based on the heroine created by Brian Michael Bendis, David F. Walker, and Jamal Campbell.
While Naomi isn't a traditional Arrowverse spinoff, the DC drama is heavily rooted in focusing on the Multiverse. It's in a similar position that Black Lightning was in before Crisis on Infinite Earths, where the Salim Akil-produced series existed on another Earth but had crossover potential. Naomi season 1 focused heavily on the heroine's origin story, from discovering her powers to learning about her true background, as she's a citizen of Earth-29. In the beginning, there was a lot of chatter if Naomi would do a crossover in season 1, but the creative team wanted to use the character's first year to establish her world before engaging with other DC properties.
