The CW cancels another DC TV show as Naomi will not be returning for season 2 in the 2022-2023 TV season. 2022 is going down as the year that the Arrowverse and the DC TV universe had their biggest shake-up. In January 2022, it was revealed that WarnerMedia and Paramount, who co-own The CW, were officially looking to sell the network after 16 years. While Nexstar was a reported candidate, the sale affected The CW's renewal and cancelation process from previous years.
When it came to the Arrowverse and DC TV brands, the popular franchise would usually get renewed early every year. But with the future of The CW up in the air, things weren't as safe as they normally are, with several shows landing in the bubble status. While The Flash and Superman & Lois got renewed for another season in March, The CW canceled Batwoman after 3 seasons, as well as Legends of Tomorrow, which finished its season 7 run in March. Despite not being tied to the Arrowverse, Naomi was another CW drama that was on the bubble.

Following the Naomi season 1 finale earlier this week, The CW (via Deadline) has officially made the call to not renew the DC drama for season 2. Naomi, which was based on the DC Comics character by Brian Michael Bendis, David F. Walker, and Jamal Campbell, starred Kaci Walfall as the titular heroine. Ava DuVernay executive produced the series alongside Jill Blankenship, who served as the showrunner. Deadline noted, however, that ARRAY Filmworks and WBTV are looking to shop Naomi around to other outlets.
