Windows Task Manager is getting a massive update. In the midst of big announcements for macOS and iOS, Microsoft is bringing constant changes to Windows 11. After updating other bits of the desktop OS, it is now time for the Task Manager to get some beauty treatment. The Windows 11 version 22H2 update is shaping up to be a big feature update, and will contain some cosmetic updates for the Task Manager to make it look better than before.
Note that Version 22H2 update is a massive update since the release of Windows 11 late last year. We are going to get some big changes as well as requested features that users have been demanding since the release last year. The update is expected to release in a few months for most Windows 11 users on the stable build. However, those on the Windows 11 Insider Preview versions are already getting to see the changes, especially those trying the developer version.

The Task Manager is one the apps that is getting some love and care. The base function of the app remains the same but Microsoft is changing the way it looks. The Task Manager in Windows 11 has looked like the older version but Microsoft is now applying the Fluent Design theme on it. The layout has changed, with neatly arranged tabs on the left column. The app now looks a lot like the File Explorer’s in Windows, bringing more focus to the data. For someone not that tech-savvy with Windows, the Task Manager now makes it easy to fiddle around with the running processes, and even force close a frozen app.
Other than the new colour themes that now matches with the desktop background, the Task Manager also gets Dark Mode.
