The big showdown in My Hero Academia has the hybrid Tomura Shigaraki/All-for-One on his own against a horde of heroes, but the «perfected» villain has some more tricks up his sleeve, including one of the creepiest quirks seen in the series to date, and it could cost a popular heroine her life.
The heroes launched their attack on the villains just a few chapters ago, with separating the villains from each other as a key aspect of their plan. Despite the risk, part of their original plan was to have Deku with One for All on the team facing off with Shigaraki, but some interference from Himiko Toga led to Deku being transported elsewhere. While this certainly threw the heroes' plan off the rails, many powerful heroes like Endeavor and Best Jeanist are still on the scene, and even the badly injured Eraser Head is present, allowing Class 1-B's Monoma to copy his quirk erasure ability to hamper Shigaraki even further. As deadly as Shigaraki and his Decay quirk can be, the heroes still have the upper hand in this scenario they've constructed, even without Deku's help.

In theory, Monoma's copy of Aizawa's erasure should be able to prevent any non-heteromorphic quirk from activating, just as it does when Aizawa uses it. But with Aizawa's eyes being one of the major injuries he's suffered, he can't use the quirk like he used to, and it wasn't clear whether Monoma's copy would have the full strength he once possessed, or be the current, weakened version.
