Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Elvis star Austin Butler is in early talks to star in Dune: Part Two as the major villain Feyd-Rautha. Denis Villeneuve is at the helm for the latest adaptation of Frank Herbert's epic sci-fi novel set in the far future and centered on young Paul Atreides as he and his family find themselves in the midst of a heated war for control of the desert planet Arrakis, home to the galaxy's most valuable resource known as the Spice. Villeneuve co-wrote the script for the first film alongside Jon Spaihts and Eric Roth.
Villeneuve went into developing Dune as a two-part adaptation, with the sequel not officially greenlit until a few days after the first hit theaters and HBO Max to largely positive reviews and a strong box office return. Much of the original ensemble cast are expected to return for the sequel, including Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya and Josh Brolin. As production is gearing up to begin later this year, the roster for Dune: Part Two is continuing to grow in major directions.

On the heels of word breaking that Florence Pugh was in talks to join the sequel, Deadline has brought word that Austin Butler has entered talks to star in Dune: Part Two. The Elvis star is reportedly in negotiations for the major villain role of Feyd-Rautha for the next installment in Denis Villeneuve's sci-fi epic franchise. Production on Dune: Part Two is eyeing a Fall 2022 start date.
In Herbert's novel, Freyd-Rautha serves as the younger nephew and heir of Baron Harkonnen who is a key figure to the Baron's plans to gain power on Arrakis for the maniacal family, favoring him over his more brutish older brother Glossu
