Sharon Stone is looking to join the comic book movie genre as the actress is in talks to star as a villain in the upcoming Blue Beetle movie. Warner Bros. is rapidly fleshing out its interconnected universe as the DCEU brings more iconic heroes and villains from panel to screen. With the additional platform in HBO Max, the studio has multiple ways of launching new franchises within the DCEU, both as movies and TV shows. One of the upcoming installments is Blue Beetle, with Cobra Kai star Xolo Maridueña as the titular hero.
The project was initially an HBO Max original before Warner Bros., and DC Films decided to retool it into a theatrical release. Blue Beetle, which Angel Manuel Soto will direct, focuses on Jaime Reyes, a teenager whose life changes forever after discovering an alien scarab that turns him into the iconic DC hero. Not only is this movie one of the few teen-focused projects for the DCEU, but Blue Beetle will be the first major superhero film to star a Latino character as the lead. Now, as Blue Beetle is set to commence principal photography this year, the cast continues to expand, and the film finally has a villain.

Deadline reports that Academy Award-nominated actress Sharon Stone is in talks to join the DC picture as a new character with a familiar lineage. Stone will play Victoria Kord, whose last name will likely turn some heads among comic book fans, as she appears to have some relation to Ted Kord, the second Blue Beetle.
