A new piece of Moon Knight fan art calls out episode 3’s silliest moment, in which Khonshu fails to convince his fellow gods of Arthur Harrow’s malicious intent. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has already introduced many deities, from the Asgardians to the Eternals. With Marvel Studios’ latest live-action series on Disney+, the MCU has brought in a new roster of Egyptian deities such as the menacing, and often silly Khonshu (voiced by F. Murray Abraham).
Moon Knight follows Oscar Isaac as a man living with dissociative identity disorder (DID). At the beginning of the series, audiences are introduced to two of his alters, the “gift shopist” Steven Grant and Marc Spector—a mercenary who serves as Khonshu’s avatar. The series also stars Ethan Hawke as Arthur Harrow, a cult leader (and former Khonshu avatar) determined to release the imprisoned Egyptian goddess Ammit and purge the world of evil by judging humans preemptively. In episode 3, “The Friendly Type,” Khonshu requests an audience with five other members of the Egyptian Ennead, warning them about Harrow’s nefarious motives. Unfortunately, Khonshu makes a less-than-convincing argument while Harrow gaslights the moon god and his avatar.

Digital artist Rachel Hoo on Instagram recently shared some fan art calling out Khonshu for his debate skills in episode 3 of Moon Knight. The piece sees Khonshu tell Marc how their “case against Harrow must be indisputable” before shouting accusations without presenting any evidence. Check it out below:
