Black Adam will be joining the MultiVersus roster later this week, it’s been confirmed.
A tweet on the official MultiVersus account revealed that the DC Comics anti-hero will be added to the game as its 22nd playable character.
Joining Black Adam is a new Arcade mode, which will also be added to the game at the same time.
Although it’s not clear what this mode entails, it’s believed to be a traditional arcade-style format where players fight through a series of opponents.
MultiVersus dataminers previously discovered that the Arcade mode will seemingly feature three difficulty levels and consist of 10 stages.
Game director Tony Huynh also confirmed to a follower on Twitter that Arcade mode will support online co-op.
The addition of Black Adam as a playable character coincides with the theatrical release of the Warner Bros Pictures movie of the same name, starring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.
However, rather than looking like Johnson, the MultiVersus design for Black Adam looks more like versions of the character seen in DC comic books over the years.

The last major update for MultiVersus was two weeks ago, adding Stripe from Gremlins as a playable character.
The update also added a limited time Halloween event, in which players can earn candy for playing and winning matches, then spend this candy on limited time items including two skins, an emote and a profile icon.
A new ‘anti-infinite system’ was also implemented, which attempted to “put a global soft-cap on infinite combos”.
