Ms. Marvel cinematographer Jules O'Loughlin shares a disappointing update on the potential for season 2. Ms. Marvel, which premiered on Disney+ in June, was a long-awaited arrival to the MCU for Kamala Khan, a Muslim teenager who takes the mantle of Ms. Marvel in the fan-favorite Marvel Comics title. Since the comics arc began in 2014, fans had anticipated the portrayal of Kamala, rare in her status as a Marvel superfan in addition to a Marvel superhero, onscreen. Filming has already wrapped on The Marvels, a team-up film that will unite Kamala with her idol, Carol Danvers a.k.a. Captain Marvel, and the Ms. Marvel post-credits scene sets up the 2023 film perfectly. Additionally, the final episode of Ms. Marvel revealed that Kamala is the first confirmed MCU instance of a mutant, and indicates the presence of the X-Men in this universe after years of existing separately under Fox. Regardless of all of this, there still existed the possibility of Ms. Marvel continuing on Disney+ as well.
