Warrior season 3 receives a long-awaited update after more than a year of radio silence regarding Cinemax/HBO Max's martial arts series. Created by Banshee's Jonathan Trooper based on the writings of martial arts legend Bruce Lee, Warrior takes place during the brutal Tong Wars in San Francisco during the late 1870s. The story follows a martial arts expert, Ah Sahm, who emigrates from Foshan in search of his elder sister, Xiaojing, and ends up being sold to one of most powerful tongs in Chinatown.
Andrew Koji, who has now starred in Snake Eyes and Bullet Train, leads the Warrior cast as Ah Sahm alongside an ensemble that includes Olivia Cheng, Jason Tobin, Dianne Doan, Kieran Bew, Dean Jagger, Tom Weston-Jones, Hoon Lee, Joe Taslim, Langley Kirkwood, Perry Yung, Chen Tang, Miranda Raison, Dustin Nguyen, and many more. The marital arts series is executively produced by Lee's daughter, Shannon, and the Fast & Furious franchise's Justin Lee. Warrior premiered on Cinemax in 2019 and was the premium cable channel's final series before it ceased production of original programming. In April of last year, Warrior was renewed for season 3, coupled with the announcement the series would be relocating to HBO Max.
