Ms. Marvel Cinematographer Reveals BTS Secrets About Shooting In Thailand
Ms. Marvel changed the course of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in many ways. Not only did it introduce the first female South Asian and Muslim superhero into the fold, it also teased the inevitable initiation of mutants, and possibly Inhumans. Considering Kamala Khan’s background, some of her story takes place in Karachi as part of the Disney Plus series. But, fans already know that those scenes were filmed in Thailand. The series’ cinematographer Jules O'Loughlin has now revealed some behind-the-scenes secrets of the shoot, and how it was brought to life.
The Multiverse is now real in the MCU, and while it wasn’t directly referenced in Ms. Marvel, it seemingly played a huge role in bringing an important piece of Kamala’s history to life. One moment that is groundbreaking in the series is when Kamala arrives in Pakistan, visits the train station in Karachi, and comes in contact with the Red Dagger. However, this train station does not look like the one in the real world, an observation that fans from the city would have made, and O'Loughlin used the Multiverse as a justification.

When picking a location for the Karachi Railway Station, O'Loughlin and director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, the Pakistani-Canadian filmmaker who was born in the metropolitan Pakistani city, had a bit of a creative difference.
