Motorola is coming with the Moto G72 to India and it could entice Redmi Note 11 Pro prospective buyers. In an era where budget phones are going the extra mile to accomodate a 5G chip, Motorola is taking a different approach by sticking to a 4G chip and delivering features that matter. The phone is launching on October 3 and could be priced under Rs. 20,000, thereby challenging the Redmi Note 11 Pro. Ahead of the launch, Motorola has revealed all the specs on a Flipkart page.
The Moto G72 is a massively different smartphone from the previous Moto G series devices we have seen recently. It is after a long while that Motorola changes the design on its Moto G lineup. Then there are some standout features such as a 120Hz pOLED display as well as a 108MP rear camera, and a 108MP rear camera. Motorola is yet to reveal the price on the Moto G72 but we expect it to compete with the Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G variant in India.
The Flipkart teaser page reveals the presence of a 108MP camera sensor for the main camera. Then there's the chipset, which is MediaTek's new Helio G99 chip supporting just 4G networks. Motorola is also offering 6GB LPDDR4X RAM as well as a 128GB storage. It will boot Android 12 out of the box.
The highlight of the phone, however, is the 120Hz pOLED display with HDR10 colours, 1300 nits of peak brightness, an in-display fingerprint sensor, as well as a punch-hole cutout for the front camera. The phone will rely on a 5000mAh battery and support 33W wired charging. It will also be IP52 certified for water resistance.
Prior to this, Motorola launched the Edge 30 Ultra as well as the Edge 30 Fusion in India. The Edge 30 Ultra debuted the 200MP camera sensor on a smartphone in India. It also offered the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1
