Mortal Kombat 1 Website Update Confirm Fan Theories About Raiden, Mileena, And Sub-Zero

An update to the official Mortal Kombat 1 website has introduced character bios for all of the fighters that have been revealed so far, confirming a few fan theories and revealing some interesting new details.

One of the biggest things that sets Mortal Kombat 1 apart from the rest of the series is that it acts as a timeline reset, which changes the backgrounds and goals of most of its characters. We've seen some of this through the story trailer and character intros that play before a match begins, but an update to the Mortal Kombat website has given us more information through a set of new character bios.

Let's start off with the creator of this new universe - Liu Kang. His bio doesn't say much new, but it does tease that he'll be going up against an enemy he "could never have anticipated", which seems to imply that it's not someone as obvious as Shang Tsung. Next on the list is Sub-Zero, who we know from character intros to be Bi-Han and not Kuai Liang. We also know from his bio that he's already the Grandmaster of the Lin Kuei, and that he's aiming to make them one of the "great nations" of Earthrealm.

Scorpion's bio reveals that he's a "revered warrior" of the Lin Keui, confirming yet again that he and Sub-Zero are in the same clan. The rest of the bio doesn't say much, but it does tease that Scorpion and Sub-Zero are going to have to fight eventually and that history is likely to repeat itself. Next up is Kitana, the princess of Outworld. Beyond that confirmation, there's not much new here, although it's clarified once again that her and Mileena are sisters and both heirs to the throne.
