One of the fun gameplay features in the Monster Hunter series has its players eating canteen meals before each hunt to get a variety of buffs. Over the years, the series has moved across many gaming platforms like the PlayStation Portable, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and even PC, and so has the food served in the game's canteens changed and evolved. Now, Capcom has shared a new video that gives a glimpse of the new features of Monster Hunter canteen food in its upcoming expansion, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak.
When Monster Hunter Rise was released back in 2021, the game introduced players to a more Japanese-themed environment. Monster Hunter Rise was set in Kamura Village where Japanese-inspired architecture could be seen everywhere. The monsters were also based on creatures and demons from Japanese folklore and mythology. To coincide with the theme, MH Rise's canteen was turned into the Tea Shop, where Yomogi the Chef makes delicious dango for hunters to eat before they go on hunts. Fortunately, Capcom has retained the Tea Shop from the base game, and players will see the familiar delicacies from the canteen in Sunbreak's Elgado Outpost.
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Previews New Follower Quest Gameplay
To show off one of the new features of the canteen in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, Capcom shared a short video on the title's official Twitter account. According to the post and video, hunters will be able to choose «Hopping Skewers,» which will sacrifice the third buff for a chance to enhance the first two chosen buffs.
