According to recent rumors, the upcoming Gotham Knights won’t include Russian subtitles or voicework. This seems to be a direct result of Russia's ongoing invasion of Ukraine, which began in February and has sparked mass protests and government sanctions by the European Union and the United States. Naturally, many video game developers and console manufacturers have been showing their support for Ukraine in the face of Russia's actions over the past few months.
Both PlayStation and Nintendo have stopped all product shipments in Russia as a result of the invasion, and Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red has likewise halted all game sales in both the country and the allied European nation of Belarus after donating nearly $250K to relief efforts in Ukraine. Other major publishers like Ubisoft have made similar donations to help Ukrainian employees relocate in the face of Russia’s ongoing attacks, developer DICE removed a Russian helicopter reward from Battlefield 2042 as a show of solidarity with the Ukrainian people, and Ukrainian developer GSC Game World recently halted production of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 until the war is over. Finally, Pokémon GO developer Niantic has disconnected the popular mobile game from all Russian servers, not too long after The Pokémon Company made its own massive donation to Ukrainian humanitarian efforts.
