There are a handful of throwing interfaces you can choose from here, and as part of our MLB The Show 23 guide, we're going to introduce the best throwing interface to use and why.
In MLB The Show 23, there are three throwing interfaces to choose from, and a fourth automatic option. We'd recommend against Auto Throwing, because this puts the power entirely in the CPU's hands, and you may not always agree with its decisions. The remaining options are as follows:
While all three options are ultimately quite similar, we'd recommend you select Button Accuracy. This is the most difficult option, as it requires you to release the button in a sweet spot that appears, which is represented by your fielder's unique statistics. However, the upside is that it allows you to unlock the most precise animations and fastest releases, meaning if you get the timing right, you'll be able to oversee some elite defence.
Button Accuracy has been made a bit more difficult in MLB The Show 23 compared to last year, because the sweet spot on the meter no longer appears in the same place, and will instead move about depending on the difficulty of the throw and your player's attributes. But in our opinion this adds a little more spice to the fielding gameplay, and keeps you on your toes.
Both Buttons and Analog largely operate the same way, the only difference is that the former assigns face buttons to each base, while the latter uses the analogue stick
