Spot-on Mirabel and Isabela lookalikes recreate one of the scenes from Disney's Encantoin a fun TikTok. Released in theaters last fall, Encanto has swiftly become one of the biggest animated movies of the past several years, if not in box office returns, then in fan enthusiasm. The musical film centers on the Madrigal family, their magical house, and Mirabel, the one member of the group who wasn't blessed with a special gift. When the the casita begins to lose its power, Mirabel steps up as the only one who can save the day.
Encanto earned positive reviews upon premiering in November, and at the time, it posted the best box office numbers for an animated film during the pandemic. However, its true success came when it arrived on Disney+ in December, thus widening its audience and capturing the imaginations of countless fans. Pieces of fan art and TikTok parodies have spread across the internet, and every song on the Encanto soundtrack has been boosted to a spot on the Billboard chart at least once. On top of all that, Disney CEO Bob Chapek described Encanto as a new franchise just last week, hinting there is more ahead for the Madrigal family.
