The yet-unnamed 1.20 update for Minecraft promises to bring a load of new content for players to enjoy, including the beautiful new cherry blossom biome which one fan has discovered a remarkably tiny version of in the latest snapshot version. The new environment is filled with colorful new types of plants, including the cherry blossom tree which brings along yet another new type of wood for Minecraft building experts to make use of.
Mojang has taken a cautious approach to revealing the features for the upcoming 1.20 update so far, with the developers providing the community with little information until the start of 2023 as to avoid disappointing fans. This was an issue that arose during the development of some of the game's more recent updates, such as Minecraft's Cave and Cliffs update which ultimately had to be split into two parts due to unforeseen complications. Even so, the developers did announce some features for the Caves and Cliffs update that never ended up making into the final version of the update, such as the greatly-anticipated archeology mechanic which resulted in community frustration after it was revealed that the feature had to be scrapped. Thankfully though, it turns out that this archeology feature will get a chance to shine after all, with Mojang recently revealing that it will be a part of the 1.20 update.
