Previously announced to release in celebration of Black History Month, Milestone Media’s special anthology issue has been postponed for June. The delayed comic features Milestone heroes includingIcon, Rocket, Static, and Hardware alongside historical heroes such as Hannibal, Queen of Sheba, Alexande Dumas, and Eugene Bullard.
Last year, Milestone returned to DC Comics with three ongoing titles to reboot the imprint’s most popular superheroes, including Static, Hardware, Icon, and Rocket. While each series approaches a conclusion to their first seasons with their sixth issues, they are being collected in hardcover editions. With the first phase of the Milestone reboot coming to a close, the time is approaching when Dakota’s new heroes will share a panel. They have already crossed paths with one another, as Virgil Hawkins AKA Static attends the same high school as Raquel Ervin AKA Rocket, and Curtis Metcalf AKA Hardware has also met Virgil. However, the heroes will soon appear in the same issue with the upcoming anthology issue.

Originally slated to release on February 15, Milestones in History is being pushed to debut in June. DC Comics had announced for the 96-page issue to be a prime component of the publisher’s celebration for Black History Month. With Milestone’s return after nearly two decades, it would have been the perfect way to commemorate the month. ChrisCross had been announced to illustrate the cover and Doug Braithwaite had been set to create a variant cover. The one-shot was said to feature stories by Reginald Hudlin, Alice Randall, Michael Harriot, Touré, and more writers who have yet to be revealed.
