VTubers have become a massive sensation across the internet over the past few years. Now Kizuna Ai, arguably the entertainer that kickstarted the now popular craze, has leveraged her success into the creation of a full-blown anime project.
The official Kizuna Ai Twitter announced that an anime has entered production. Few details have been released about the upcoming project out of a still image as an announcement, so fans have been left wondering if it will be a full-blown series, a movie, or a short OVA.

The announcement came as a particular shock as Kazuna had previously announced that she would be taking an indefinite hiatus after her most recent concert which took place on February 26th. Fans bracing themselves for a severe lack of content in the coming days outside of «important announcements» were pleasantly dumbstruck at the sudden announcement.
This wasn't the only surprise shared with fans either as a CeVIO AI for Kizuna was also revealed. This software will contain voice synthesis of the famed character which could allow people to create their own songs sung in Kizuna's voice.
It makes sense that Kizuna Ai would try to branch out into creating more content surrounding the VTube personality. Microsoft has previously hired VTubers to help promote GamePass in Japan and Sonic and Tails have also become VTubers. Hololive, one of the largest VTuber talent agencies around, has proven that the business can be extremely lucrative. Even massive media giant Disney considering a VTuber launch.
