Michelle Yeoh, the star of the multidimensional science-fiction comedy Everything Everywhere All at Once, has shared her reaction to reading the script for the first time in an emotional interview. Written and directed by Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheinert (aka The Daniels), the movie follows laundromat owner Evelyn Wang (Yeoh) who develops the power to exist across different parallel dimensions, as well as control objects within them, in order to stop an alternate version of her daughter (Stephanie Hsu) from potentially destroying it all. Boasting an impressive cast that also includes Ke Huy Quan, James Hong, Jamie Lee Curtis and Tallie Medel, Everything Everywhere All at Once has received widespread praise for its ingenuity, creativity and heartfelt core.
Following her Hollywood debut in the James Bond movie Tomorrow Never Dies, Yeoh has enjoyed a highly prolific career. The actor has made her name in particular as an action-star, having appeared in other blockbuster movies such as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Her early career acting in numerous martial-arts and Hong Kong action movies has even led to Yeoh often performing her own stunts and fight scenes. However, Yeoh has also showcased her versatility as an actor by starring in less action-oriented hit movies such as the period-drama Memoirs of a Geisha, and the romantic comedies Last Christmas and Crazy Rich Asians.
