The first footage from Avatar 2 is expected to be shown tomorrow at CinemaCon, with descriptions to follow. Released in 2009, Avatar marked a momentous event for movie-lovers everywhere, earning over $2.8 billion at the box office and currently holding the record as the highest-grossing movie of all time. The film, which is directed by James Cameron, tells the story of humanity's attempts to harvest resources from the planet Pandora and marine Jake Sully's (Sam Worthington) attempts to fight back after he is welcomed into the community of the planet's native alien race known as the Na'vi.
Cameron has now been hard at work filming Avatar 2 since at least 2017, in addition to developing three more sequels, which are expected to be released every few years up to 2028. Avatar 2 is said to follow Sully and his new family and their attempts to protect Pandora from a new threat. The Avatar 2production features leaps in a number of aspects of filmmaking technology, with special new gear needed to capture the movie's many underwater sequences. In addition to Worthington, Avatar 2 stars Zoe Saldana, Michelle Yeoh, Kate Winslet, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, and Giovanni Ribisi, among others.

As per a new report from THR, the first footage from the highly-anticipated sequel is expected to be shown tomorrow, Wednesday, April 26th, at CinemaCon. CinemaCon is currently underway in Las Vegas, featuring panels from a number of major studios with special sneak-peeks at upcoming films.
