Michael Keaton, who is reprising his role as the Vulture in the upcoming Morbius film, has revealed that he recently recorded some dialogue for the character in Los Angeles. Keaton’s first appearance as Adrian Toomes was in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, in which he served as the film’s main antagonist opposite Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. His unexpected inclusion in the Morbius film was revealed in early 2020 when he made a surprise appearance at the end of that film’s first teaser.
Morbius stars Jared Leto as Dr. Michael Morbius, a scientist who accidentally turns himself into a vampire while attempting to cure a rare blood disease. It is Sony’s third villain-focused Spider-Man spinoff film, following 2018’s Venom and its 2021 sequel, Venom: Let There Be Carnage. The presence of what appears to be Michael Keaton’s MCU version of the Vulture in Morbius is one of many contradictory elements which makes it unclear whether the film is set in the MCU or one of Sony'sSpider-Man timelines. Spider-Man: No Way Home introducing past Sony characters into the MCU muddies the waters even more.
