Konami has released Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 patch 1.3.0, which addresses various issues with the controversial port.
Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 launched last month with a number of issues Konami said it would sort out post-release, and fans had already criticised Konami for locking Metal Gear Solid 1 to 30 frames per second.
IGN’s Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 Performance Review (original vs. PS5 and Xbox Series X and S) looked into how the port failed to meet expectations. The collection, as well as the individual games included within it, have a 'mixed' user review rating on Steam, with most users calling out the disappointing quality of the ports.
Now, with the release of patch 1.3.0, some of these problems are resolved, but Konami outlined many that remain. In the update 1.3.0 patch notes, Konami marked fixes of previously known issues with an asterisk. We've included these for reference below.
Konami also listed issues “under investigation”. “We will continue to provide regular updates on future improvements and fixes as further details are finalized,” Konami added.
