Undetected, an indie stealth game heavily inspired by Metal Gear Solid, will sneak onto PlayStation 5, Steam and other platforms this year. Hideo Kojima's iconic title, which released back in 1998, brought Tactical Espionage Action into the 3D space with top-down sneaking and an epic cinematic story. Developer Antonio Freyr revealed stealth action game Undetectedback in January, but now the project has received an exciting reveal trailer that should tantalize any Metal Gear Solid fan.
The first installment in Hideo Kojima's Metal Gear franchise released in 1987, but 1998's Metal Gear Solid made the leap to 3D graphics. The beloved title puts players in the silent shoes of Solid Snake, a genetically-engineered soldier pulled out of retirement to infiltrate Shadow Moses Island. Tasked with destroying Metal Gear Rex, a giant robot capable of launching a nuclear strike, players must avoid enemies and face iconic bosses using cunning, a lineup of useful tools and an arsenal of weapons. While a Metal Gear Solid Unreal Engine 5 remake shows off what the title would look like today, Undetected promises to recapture the stealth game's core values.
