One of the many hotly anticipated games on the horizon is Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, a remake of the third title in the stealth action series. We know it's heading to PS5, but as of right now, we don't know when. Fortunately, it seems we won't be waiting too much longer for an answer.
At the very end of PS Blog's hands-on feature for Konami's remake, the author Corey Brotherson states we'll be getting a release date sometime in 2024. Signing off the piece, Brotherson reiterates you'll be able to play Delta on PS5, «with a release date to be revealed later this year». So, within the next few months, we'll finally learn when this game is due out.
Earlier this year, Sony caused a bit of a stir when it included Delta in a rundown of PS5 games coming in 2024, despite no official word from Konami on release timing. Many have supposed this means the game will indeed launch before the end of the year, but as the final few months of 2024 come into view with nary a peep from the publisher, it's looking less likely. On top of that, the remake of Silent Hill 2 is due out on 8th October, and we doubt Konami would want to push out two games close together.
Still, whatever the case may be, it seems likely we'll learn Delta's release date in the near future. Until then, you can read our fresh hands-on impressions from Gamescom, in which we call it a «fiercely loyal remake»:
