Ever since PlayStation announced that Konami’s Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater would launch this year, there was some expectation of it appearing at State of Play. It didn’t, of course, but that doesn’t mean new details aren’t coming soon. However, it’s also possible that the remake will slip to next year.
Dealabs’ billbil-kun, who reported on God of War Ragnarok’s PC announcement before it became official, referred to a “global distribution giant” listing the remake for 2025. The placeholder date for physical copies was reportedly set at December 31st, 2025, seemingly indicating a launch next year. The leaker couldn’t verify this with a second source.
However, they believe there will be a new announcement in the next ten days, potentially on June 6th, followed by pre-orders opening up. It also seems the game’s Standard Edition will retail for $69.99 while the Collector’s Edition (whose contents are unknown) costs $199.99 on Xbox Series X/S and PS5.
Konami has confirmed that there will be another presentation for Metal Gear Solid’s “bigger” announcements, though a date has yet to be confirmed. As always, stay tuned for more details.
