At the DROP 01 animation showcase by Netflix, a trailer and release date were revealed for the Ubisoft crossover series, Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix. Fans eager to feast their eyeballs on this Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon-inspired, Suicide Squad-adjacent crossover series starring characters from a variety of Ubisoft games can do so when it drops on October 19.
In the trailer, we are shown a neon-drenched city, a news broadcast starring Rayman — wait, Ubisoft actually remembers him? — and a main character with a bomb in his brain. Captain Dolph Laserhawk is a super-soldier locked away in the maximum-security prison known as Supermaxx. He’s then tasked with leading a team of assorted characters on highly dangerous missions. The voice cast was also announced, giving us not only a glimpse into how these characters will sound, but we are also given an idea of what to expect from characters not shown in the trailer. Nathaniel Curtis and Boris Hiestand will be giving life to Laserhawk and his boyfriend Alex Taylor. Mark Ebulue will play Marus Holloway from Watch Dogs 2, “Balak,” who serves as the creative director at animation studio Bobbypills, will be providing the voice for Bullfrog, series creator Adi Shankar will be playing Red from the Niji Six (a not-so-subtle reference to Rainbow Six), and Caroline Ford will be The Warden.
It’s also been confirmed that David Menkin is providing the voice for Rayman, Courtney Mae-Briggs and Glenn Wrage will be portraying Jade and Pey’j from Beyond Good & Evil, and Daniel York Loh will be Pagan Min from Far Cry 4.
