Fast travel is a godsend, especially in survival games like . Because you'll be retracing your steps or hauling materials back and forth from the same location all the time, it's critical that you have fast travel unlocked, as walking can and will chew up a lot of your time. However, fast travel isn't immediately available for you in; you'll have to put in some effort to obtain it.
Fast travel in works in a somewhat peculiar way. You cannot immediately travel to specific points on the map. Instead, you must either unlock or create fast travel points using Map Stones. That's also not to mention whether you need to repair the Ruined Map Stone first. In any case, while the entire process is a little confusing, it's all broken down below.

In order to fast travel in, you need at least two working Map Stones. These act as waypoints that let you fast travel between the two locations. The first Map Stone you come across is in the tutorial camp, and it is a Ruined Map Stone, which means it needs to be repaired. You'll stumble across your second Map Stone once you reach the Mines of Moria, however, it too will need to be repaired.In order to repair Ruined Map Stones, you need a Black Diamond.

Black Diamonds are used to repair and construct (Ruined) Map Stones.
