A Marvel’s Spider-Man mod replaces Peter Parker with his loving Aunt May, but the results are rather strange even for the life of a superhero. Insomniac's take on Marvel's friendly neighborhood web-slinger is packed with guest appearances from plenty of Spidey's most noteworthy friends and enemies, from his longtime rival-turned-love interest the Black Cat to classic villains like Doctor Octopus, the Rhino, and even Norman Osborn before his transformation into the infamous Green Goblin. Luckily, many of Peter Parker's allies show up to lend a hand to the perpetually unlucky hero, including Marvel’s Spider-Man’s versions of Mary Jane Watson and Miles Morales.
One longtime comic book character who almost didn’t appear in Marvel’s Spider-Man was May Parker, Peter’s kindly aunt who often serves as a supportive and humanizing element to Spidey’s outlandish adventures. Insomniac nearly cut Aunt May from Marvel’s Spider-Man due to technical issues, and almost gave a particularly emotional moment in the game’s conclusion to Harry Osborn instead. Thankfully, May was ultimately featured in Marvel’s Spider-Man after all, where she spends her time volunteering at Martin Lee’s homeless shelter — unaware that her boss is actually the villainous Mr. Negative. She and Peter share many warm moments and endearing interactions in Marvel’s Spider-Man, including one cute exchange where Peter teaches his elderly aunt proper texting.
