A fan edit of Captain America: Civil War has replaced Tom Holland’s debut as Peter Parker with that of Andrew Garfield’s Amazing Spider-Man. Since the 2016 superhero brawl, which served as the conclusion to theCaptain America trilogy, the MCU’s Spider-Man has been portrayed by Holland, a decidedly younger version of the character who was recruited by Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man to be an Avenger. Holland has since made at least one appearance as the character every subsequent year, whether leading his own solo Spider-Man series or participating in the ensemble Avengers films.
Of course, Holland is far from the first actor to bring Peter Parker to life on the big screen since the character first made his cinematic debut in 2002. Tobey Maguire was the original web-slinger on film, portraying the character across Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy. The series was then rebooted in 2012 with Garfield taking on the reins in The Amazing Spider-Man. The novelty of having had three cinematic versions of Spider-Man across the past 20 years came to a head in last year’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, which saw all three actors unite across the multiverse to the fight villains from past Spidey entries.
