Insomniac Games recently confirmed that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will feature a new option called Swing Steering assist, allowing players to customize their experience with the open world title in new ways. Following that, community director James Stevenson has also offered a brief explanation on exactly what the feature will do.
Responding to a fan on Twitter, Stevenson said that Swing Assistance isn’t one of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s vast array of accessibility options, but instead lets you make the game more demanding, if that’s what you wish. By default, Swing Assistance will be set to level 10 – the highest possible – though if players want less assistance and want swinging to require more skill and precision, you’ll have the option to turn it down as much as you want.
Insomniac has previously also confirmed that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will give players the option to enable fall damage, so clearly, those who want the experience to be more challenging and focused on skill-based gameplay will have the ability to customize it to that end.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is due out on October 20 for PS5. Check out a partial list of its Trophies through here.
For instance – there are 10 levels of Swing Assistance on that slider. The game starts at the default (from the previous games!) is Level 10. So it’s a feature we let players turn down to get /less/ assistance if they want.
