Marvel's Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 developer Insomniac is on the lookout for a Lead Gameplay Programmer with experience in multiplayer titles. Marvel's Spider-Man 2 was first announced at the PlayStation Showcase in September 2021, and since then, fans have been wanting to find out more about the sequel to 2018's popular open-world action title. So far, not much has been confirmed in terms of concrete details, and a lot of gamers have been speculating online about what may and may not feature in the game.
Something that has been hotly debated online is whether fans will see some co-op features in Marvel's Spider-Man 2. Recently, with the release of Marvel's Spider-Man on PC, players digging through the files of that game discovered that at some point Insomniac may have planned for the 2018 game to have a form of multiplayer. To some, this indicated that Insomniac was gearing up for co-op in Marvel's Spider-Man 2, and now a recent job posting may have given more evidence to back up that theory.
Spider-Man 2 Game Leak is Good News for Fans
The job posting is advertised as a Lead Gameplay Programmer position, though, from reading into the requirements of the job role, it is clear Insomniac is looking for someone with experience in the development of multiplayer titles. Specifically, the position requires experience in building architecture and providing vision for «multiplayer game systems,» as well as familiarity with object replication that facilitates «great multiplayer features.» Insomniac doesn't state that these multiplayer systems are being created for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and instead refers to the game as an «exciting new project.»
