Fans of the Hulk are well aware of Bruce Banner’s iconic catchphrase, “You wouldn’t like me when I’m angry” as it alludes to his transformation into the deadly Green-Goliath, but Marvel’s Hulk/Wolverine hybrid, Weapon H, exposes the truth behind that saying by pointing out that an inability to control his anger was never the original Hulk's problem.
Bruce Banner became the Hulk after he was exposed to gamma radiation during a controlled launch of his newly developed gamma bomb. Since then, anytime Bruce became angry or stressed, he would transform into a raging green beast–one that is immensely powerful and highly unpredictable. Years after Banner became the Hulk, the evil organization known as Weapon X set its sights on creating something even stronger: a Hulk/Wolverine hybrid. After searching for the perfect subject, Weapon X found their man in Clayton Cortez, an ex-marine with years of high-intensity training and wartime experience. Through Weapon X’s experimentation, Cortez was successfully transformed into Weapon H, a gray beast who looks just like the Hulk but with the addition of Wolverine’s razor-sharp claws. From that moment on, Cortez was cursed with the similar triggers as Bruce Banner, and unless he wanted to unexpectedly lose control, Weapon H had to come up with a way to curb his rage and keep his emotions in check–and his method is far superior to Banner’s.
