Almost nine years after her comic book debut, Kamala Khan has joined the MCU in the Ms. Marvel series – but will she join the Avengers? As the Marvel comics were seeking new, modern takes on classic heroes as well as the next generation of legacy characters, the All-New, All-Different Marvel publishing line saw new faces taking the spotlight, and from then on, Ms. Marvel became a key character in the Marvel universe. In a similar context, the MCU is in a moment of transition following the closing chapter that was Avengers: Endgame, in which new heroes, including Ms. Marvel, are becoming the focus of movies and TV shows.
Despite the major changes in Ms. Marvel's powers, which now involve energy constructs rather than the stretching abilities, the Ms. Marvel show is trying to replicate all the things that made Kamala a unique character now in live-action. Kamala's love for superheroes, especially Captain Marvel, was the starting point for Kamala's journey in the comics – and it is already present in the Ms. Marvel show.
