This week, Marvel's Avengers finally stopped ignoring Thor: Ragnarok by bringing Thor's suit from the film into the game, though Hulk still needs his gladiator suit from the film. While Crystal Dynamics continues to ignore fan requests for a 2022 roadmap for Marvel's Avengers, the developer continues to release MCU-inspired skins at semi-regular intervals. Since most of these skins are released directly into the in-game marketplace and must be purchase with the game's premium currency (and thus paid for with real money), these skins are a way for the developer to continue funding the game while supposedly working on the playable content that will be released for free to all owners of the game.
When looking at which suits to add to the game, Crystal Dynamics takes inspiration from many of the biggest and most popular films in the franchise, including both major Avengers films as well as solo films. The developer recently added Captain America's suit from Captain America: The First Avenger to Marvel's Avengers, making for Captain America's fourth MCU inspired skin to be translated into Marvel's Avengers (the other being his Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Avengers suits). Other characters, such as Hawkeye and Black Widow have even more MCU skins, with both characters currently at five MCU inspired skins (including Black Widow's upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron suit, which can currently be previewed in the game).

It feels off, then, that Hulk and Thor — who have both been major MCU players since Phase 1 — only have one and three MCU-inspired skins respectively. Hulk in particular only has a single skin, putting him at the same number of MCU
