A recently produced piece of fan art has transformed the colorful cast of Disney's Encanto into powerful characters seen in Marvel's X-Men. Despite initially releasing on November 24, 2021, and going on to become a box office disappointment, the film later became critically acclaimed globally after its release on Disney+ on December 24 of the same year. The film's soundtrack was particularly praised and became extremely popular on the social media app TikTok, and the film itself was praised for its characterization, animation, emotion, and cultural representation.
Encanto follows a young woman named Mirabel Madrigal, who was born into a superpowered family that each person within has a unique gift, except for her. Audiences are introduced to her as an outsider to her family, being the only one who feels truly different, despite being the only normal one out of them all. The film featured a star-studded cast that includes the likes of Stephanie Beatriz, María Cecilia Botero, John Leguizamo, Mauro Castillo, Jessica Darrow, Angie Cepeda, Carolina Gaitán, Diane Guerrero, and Wilmer Valderrama.

In an Instagram post from user Lyle Cruse, the artist presented a piece of original art that flipped each of the Encanto characters on their heads and translated them into their X-Men counterparts. Many of the characters are translated into X-Men members with similar powers to their own, such as Luisa being turned into the equally as strong Colossus and Pepa being transformed into X-Men's storm, both being able to control the weather. The poster's title was also changed, resembling the X-Men's school for the gifted. View the image below:
