Marvel fans believe Moon Knight may have dropped the MCU's first F-bomb in the latest episode of the Disney+ series. Starring Oscar Isaac as the titular character living with a dissociative identity disorder, Moon Knight introduces fans to the complex relationship between Steven Grant and Marc Spector. Spector ultimately takes control of Grant's body and operates as the avatar for the Egyptian god of the moon, Khonshu. The darker themes the show explores is new territory for the MCU, which has otherwise leaned toward creating more family-friendly content.
With the rise in shows coming out of the MCU, thanks mainly to its new home on Disney+, many fans have speculated that it may be time for the MCU to dip into more mature content. Characters such as Wolverine and the Punisher may find more creative freedoms in mature-rated content while simultaneously allowing the MCU to explore new territory. R-ratings could also help the MCU when it comes to fending off the crowd accusing Marvel of always playing it safe. MCU shows or films with more mature-rated content would help end those types of criticisms.
