Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s extensive post-launch support has now entered its final leg, with the Booster Course Pass’ two remaining waves of new content set to launch over the course of the remainder of this year. At the recent Nintendo Direction, we got a window for when Wave 5 will launch, and also what content it will bring.
Like all the other waves, Wave 5 will add eight new tracks to the kart racer, split across two cups. Of these eight tracks, one will be an entirely new one. Called Squeaky Clean Sprint, it’s set on a miniaturized race course in a regular-sized bathroom, with the tracks weaving in and around a bathtub full of water, a toilet, a table fan, and more.
Meanwhile, as suspected following previous reports, Wave 5 will also add more new characters to the game. Three returning faces will join the roster of playable characters, with Petey Piranha, Wiggler, and Kamek. Check out the trailer below for a glimpse at all three, as well as the new track.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is available on Nintendo Switch. Booster Course Pass Wave 5 will launch sometime this Summer.
