Over the years, we’ve seen some sizable portable phone chargers. But a man in China has outdone the rest by creating perhaps the world’s largest power bank.
Just don’t try to fit it in your pocket. The power bank is so big its capacity is rated at a whopping 27,000,000mAh.
The charger comes from "Handy Geng," a YouTuber who regularly creates unusual inventions, such as a wheelchair lawnmower or a hat that can dispense canned beverages. His latest effort focused on building a power bank larger than anything his friends own.
To do so, Geng seems to have taken a battery from an electric car. He then built a case for the battery using metal and wood, while attaching it to five different power strips. The result is a conventional-looking but extremely oversized power bank.
According to Geng, the device is the equivalent of about 900 conventional power banks. Of course, you can’t hold the device in one hand. But on the plus side, it does come with 60 electric outlets, which can simultaneously power a variety of devices, including smartphones, laptops, and even household appliances.
Geng didn’t say how much it cost to build the power bank, or how long it takes to recharge. But he did point out the device is perfect for a camping trip. “With this power bank, you don’t need to worry about lacking electricity at all when outdoors,” he says in his YouTube video as he powers up a TV and a washer and dryer.
The power bank is also so large it can double as a table. But despite the size, you can still technically carry it around. In his YouTube video, Geng demonstrates this by towing the power bank on a roller to help recharge a friend’s electric bicycle.
