Warning! Spoilers ahead for Star Wars #25
The abandoned Force connection between Luke Skywalker and Kylo Ren (originally meant for The Rise of Skywalker) was just made Star Wars canon following the events of The Last Jedi. While Luke Skywalker's final words to Kylo Ren seemed to promise a reunion from beyond the grave following their «duel» on Crait and Luke's subsequent death, the master and apprentice never encountered each other again on-screen. Not only did this signify Luke's confidence that he'd become a Force ghost, but it also teased that he would encounter the new Supreme Leader in The Rise of Skywalker. However, despite becoming a Force ghost and communing with Rey, Luke never faced Kylo Ren in the concluding chapter of the Skywalker saga.
