It is official! Apple has just announced a launch event for September 7. Titled “Far Out”, the event teaser showcases the Apple logo formed in a cluster of stars and galaxies. Rumours have previously announced an Apple launch event announcing the brand new iPhone 14 series as well as the Apple Watch Series 8 devices, and it seems that is going to be true. The event will be livestreamed as usual like all previous Apple announcements over the last few years.
The event will go live on September 7 at 10:30 PM IST and will go on until 12:30 AM of September 8. This goes on to hint that the launch event could oversee some big announcements from Apple. The iPhone 14 series is expected to be announced alongside the Apple Watch Series 8 watches, the latter expected to debut a new Pro variant for athletes. Additionally, a new Apple Watch SE is also expected to be announced at the event. We also expect to see a new pair of Apple AirPods Pro 2nd Gen at this event.
The September 7 launch event is most likely to focus on the iPhone 14 series, which could mark a big upgrade for the iPhone since 2017. The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are now said to ditch the display notch in favour of a pill-shaped camera cutout. The iPhone 14 Pro series is also said to come with a 1Hz-120Hz OLED display that would enable an Always On function, a new 48MP primary camera sensor, a new Apple A16 Bionic chip, and a 30W wired fast charging.
The vanilla iPhone 14, on the other hand, is said to come with the same A15 Bionic chipset as the iPhone 13 Pro and the same old notch style display. The iPhone 14 will also come with faster 30W wired charging and is expected to gain support for a faster 90Hz display. Apple will discontinue the iPhone Mini this year
