Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a sequel to 2021’s Lost In Random, has been revealed by Thunderful, with the game set to release in 2025. Where the original was an action adventure title, Lost In Random: The Eternal Die will switch genres, becoming a top down rogue-lite game. How will this genre switch will go down with the fanbase of the original? You can see some of the gameplay in the trailer below.
“Over the years, we’ve seen how Lost in Random has resonated with players worldwide, from its captivating story to its creative combat within a world of wonder and excitement,” said Game Director, Martin Storm. “We’ve been thinking about how to build upon this world and we decided to create an action-packed, random-infused rogue-lite, upping the stakes and the speed to create a whole new gameplay experience. We can’t wait for players to see what we have in store in Lost in Random: The Eternal Die, and to take their chances yet again.”
In Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, players will play as Aleksandra, formerly known as The Queen, who is joined by Fortune. They have become trapped within the Eternal Die by an evil Storyteller who is attempting to get rid of the pair once and for all. The different dungeons have been inspired by various boardgames, providing unique challenges. Each run will be random as landscapes will shift and the tools available to you will change.
In our Lost In Random review, Dom said, “Lost in Random is a beautiful Burton-esque fantasy that comes close to evoking the same levels of craft and character as its obvious inspirations. It doesn’t quite sustain the wonder from start to finish, but it remains an easy recommendation.”
Lost In Random: The Eternal Die will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC via Steam. It is already available to wishlist.
