Space exploration has become one of the hottest topics among gamers in the past week, especially after Bethesda had finally revealed the gameplay for its upcoming sci-fi RPG Starfield. But Starfield wasn't the only game set in outer space that looks to steal players' desire to explore outer space. At the 2022 Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, the Xbox team also showed a new trailer for Lightyear Frontier, an upcoming open world farming exploration game that brings a relatively peculiar twist of being set in space.
Developed by Swedish indie studio Frame Break, Lightyear Frontier is described as a game that blends mechanics from open-world exploration games with farming simulation games. However, one interesting bit from Lightyear Frontier is the fact that it features an alien planet as its setting, not to mention that players will do most of their in-game activities while piloting a customizable mech. Lightyear Frontier was first announced almost a year ago, but it has finally received an official release window.
Lightyear Frontier Is An Open World Co-Op Farming Game Set On An Alien Planet
The latest trailer of Lightyear Frontier shows that it is scheduled to come sometime in spring 2023. The game is being developed for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. It will also come to both the Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass on day one, meaning that subscribers of either service will be able to start building its peaceful homestead on Lightyear Frontier on the same day as the standalone releases.
The new trailer also depicts some of the interesting mechanics in Lightyear Frontier, from shooting plant seeds to harvesting crops and drilling various resources, all using the seemingly very versatile robot arms that the mech is equipped
