Tower of Fantasy has forever been in Genshin Impact’s shadow. Despite launching a mere year after HoYoverse’s enormous gacha, Level Infinite’s competitive offering has struggled to gain any real ground.
It’s a shame, as there’s plenty to love about the Genshin-like. It features a wide array of characters, a gorgeous world to explore, and an ever-expanding story. You can even create and customise your own character, in a stark contrast to Genshin.
Not one to rest on its laurels, however, Level Infinite is planning a huge reboot of the gacha, and it wants your help in doing so. There’s a questionnaire up on the official site that you can fill out right now to give your feedback on the game. English speakers will need the help of Google Translate to read it though.
Sadly, the survey is only for the Chinese version of the game, though I’d expect the changes to make it to the global release. It’s not clear that Level Infinite will take feedback from western gamers, if you were to reply in English, but it can’t hurt. Right?
So, what could Level Infinite realistically achieve with a reboot? Well, my thinking is that this poses an opportunity to either bring the game closer to Genshin Impact, or push it further away and accept that it’s its own game.
Overall, the publisher is doing the right thing by asking the players what they want. Ultimately, these are the folks helping to keep the game alive, so it’s nice to see them getting the attention they deserve.
Until Level Infinite responds to the feedback, it’s not clear what will change. I’m curious to see what the future holds for Tower of Fantasy though, as there’s plenty I prefer about it to Genshin Impact.
