The Lego Group has announced plans to release four Donkey Kong expansion sets this summer.
Set for release on August 1, the four expansion sets are Donkey Kong’s Tree House, Diddy Kong’s Mine Cart Ride, Dixie Kong’s Jungle Jam and Rambi the Rhino.
They’ll feature Donkey Kong, Cranky Kong, Diddy Kong, Funky Kong and Dixie Kong. The sets and new characters can also interact with the existing Lego Mario, Luigi and Peach figures.
Donkey Kong’s Tree House Expansion Set costs $59.99 / €64.99 / £57.99 and has 555 pieces. It includes Cranky Kong and lets players ride on DK’s back using Lego Mario, Luigi or Peach.
Priced at $109.99 / €104.99 / £94.99, Diddy Kong’s Mine Cart Ride Expansion Set includes 1,157 pieces. It features Diddy Kong, a rideable mine cart, a plane from Funky Kong’s shop, plus a Mole Miner.

The 174-piece Dixie Kong’s Jungle Jam Expansion Set, which costs $26.99 / €26.99 / £20.99, is a music-themed set which lets players perform with Dixie Kong and Squawks the parrot.
Priced at $26.99 / €26.99 / £20.99, the 106-piece Rambi the Rhino Expansion Set lets players ride the rhino figure, which emits sound effects when it walks or charges into the included stackable rock elements.
The Kong family played a prominent role in the recently released Super Mario Bros. Movie, which has been a big hit at the box office.
According to the latest reports, its third weekend was Universal’s highest ever in the US, and it’swell on course to generate over $1 billion globally.
