The free Land of the Morning Light expansion is now live in Black Desert Console , adding a sweeping new region inspired by the Joseon dynasty, new bosses, new story, and much more.
A new region, inspired by real locations and history, including the architecture from the Joseon dynasty, comes to life in the expansion update. Dalbeol is the new player hub to discover, and this and other parts of the region were based on real Korean Heritage sites that the team traveled to for inspiration. Some of these real life sites served as models for a few of the locations in the expansion update. Land of The Morning Light can definitely be called a love letter to Korea.
There is a storyline to follow that will take you around the region. The story, inspired by elements based on Korean folktales and fables will take you through a series of nonlinear questlines so you can pick your own progression path through the new content.
Some of the characters you’ll meet are based directly on popular Korean tales, and these include the Golden Pig King and nine-tailed fox Gumiho. The story is told through over 80 cutscenes, and over 6,000 dubbed lines. Everything you discover from completed quests retained in a new Storybook that you can revisit. The inspiration from both folktales and myths and historical design come through.
Land of the Morning Light is a big update, with some important changes and new systems. There's a lot more to do, including discovering and battling the new bosses in the update. Once you defeat a boss, that isn’t the end.
