Konami recently renewed its trademark for Suikoden, leading many to speculate that a reveal could be made at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show. The company previously published its lineup for the event which included numerous well known games in addition to something called “New Release Announced.” The presentation in question is currently scheduled to be held on September 16, 2022 for a total of 45 minutes.
The renewed trademark for the game was in fact filed towards the end of July down in Mexico. The news comes from a number of investigative users on Reddit and Resetera who have been stirring up the already frequent speculation that whatever winds up getting revealed at the Tokyo Game Show is going to be from a smaller series than Castlevania, Metal Gear Solid, or Silent Hill. The last real entry in the Suikoden franchise came out back in 2006.

Konami has already noted that its big reveal is going to be made by the voice actor Yuji Kaji, a fact which only added fuel to the fire. Kaji is known for playing Jowy in Suikoden 2 and Suikoden Tierkreis. “Voice actor Yuji Kaji will be invited as a guest to represent the fans of a series which is loved all over the world on the announcement stage for a new Konami title,” a listing for the Tokyo Game Show states.
Suikoden got started as a series when the eponymous game was released back in 1995 for PlayStation. Several sequels followed over the course of the next decade, culminating with Suikoden 5 in 2006. The series has been largely ignored by Konami ever since, but a number of spinoffs have still been made, the most recent of which coming out on February 9, 2012 for PSP.
