There was a time when to get a first-party PlayStation title, a gamer would have to own a Sony console. Now, it seems that this idea is being slowly phased out, as more and more PlayStation exclusives are being brought to PC, expanding the roster of hardware that can play games created by the blue brand. Marvel's Spider-Man is the most recent PlayStation exclusive to be brought to PC, and before long The Last of Us: Part 1 will also be available for mouse and keyboard users.
However, it seems that Sony doesn't want to stop at just bringing its older titles to PC. Last year, gamers speculated that Sony could be looking into the mobile gaming market, as a patent was spotted for a new PlayStation mobile controller. Now, Sony has announced its new PlayStation Studios Mobile division, which will focus on creating games for handheld devices. Also, it has been revealed that German developer Savage Game Studios has been acquired by Sony as part of this new division.
Astro Bot Studio's Next Game is Its Biggest to Date
Savage Game Studios is a relatively new development company, being founded back in 2020. However, it seems that PlayStation has high hopes for the studio, as it will reportedly be working on a new AAA action title. Also, Savage Game Studios does have some experienced developers at its helm, being co-founded by veteran video game creators formerly employed at Rovio, Zynga, and Insomniac. The studio itself, as one could probably tell from its name, is focused on creating action games that also feature narrative experiences.
Regarding the upcoming AAA action title, so far PlayStation hasn't given fans much in terms of details, but according to PlayStation Studios head Hermen Hulst, the game will be a live-service release.
