Kojima Confirms Recording On Death Stranding 2 Has Begun

Death Stranding 2 is officially in the works, and while Hideo Kojima has talked quite a lot about the game's script, how it came to be, and the people involved, but we still don't really know much about how far along in development it actually is. Despite being announced during The Game Awards last year, we still don't even have a release year either, meaning it could be years before we see the game actually hit store shelves.

However, Hideo Kojima has given us the briefest of looks behind the scenes via his Japanese Twitter account (thanks GamesRadar), revealing that recording for Death Stranding 2 has officially begun. Kojima has shared four behind the scenes pictures for fans to comb over, the first being an image of a door to a recording room. We also get an image of a fancy facial capture headset, Léa Seydoux in a recording booth, and a DS2 crew member working on something.

Death Stranding fans have, unsurprisngly, been doing what they do best, that being to pour over every single detail no matter how dull and try to get some sense of what Kojima is cooking. There's even one fan who has managed to spot an extremely blurry screen which seems to depict a character of some kind, but whether it's from Death Stranding 2 or something else entirely is quite literally impossible to tell.

What we can speculate on is what this means in terms of development. If voice actors as big as Léa Seydoux are still recording lines for the title, we can safely assume that it's fairly early in development. Voice lines are usually sorted first with the bulk of development coming after, so the recent reports of the game launching in 2024 could be
